What documents do I need to enter Belarus?
To enter Belarus you need to have a valid passport and Belarusian visa stamped
into your passport.
Where can I get Belarusian visa?
You can obtain Belarusian visa either at the Belarusian embassy in your country in advance
or at the Consular Point of the International airport Minsk-2 (code MSQ) on arrival if you arrive there by plane.
You must remember that in order to get visa at the embassy or at the Consular point of the airport you
have to make some necessary arrangements beforehand.
There is no Belarusian embassy in my country, how can I get a visa?
You can apply for the Belarusian visa either to the nearest to you Belarusiean embassy in another country,
or get visa on arrival at the Consular point of the International airport Minsk-2 (code MSQ) if you arrive
there by plane. Please note that in order to get visa at the embassy or at the Consular point of the
airport you have to make some necessary arrangements beforehand.
What kinds of visas exist?
There are 3 kinds of visa: tourist, guest and business. The easiest one to get is a tourist visa which
will allow you to stay in Belarus up to 30 days. Tourist visa can be 1,2,3 entries. The lenghth of the visa
does not depend on the quantity of the entries, it's maximum 30 days.
What documents do I need to get a visa at the embassy?
It depneds on a kind of visa you would like to obtain. There are 3 kinds of visa: tourist, guest and business.

In order to obtain the tourist visa you need two documents from a Belarusian travel company. These documents are
voucher and invitation. Voucher is a paper that contains list of services booked from a travel company, terms of
stay in Belarus, and the price of the tour. The invitation must have the name of the company, its legal address,
license number, the name, the passport data & itinerary of those who are invited. It's written in Russian. Invitation
for tourist visa can only be issued by the companies that are registered in Belarus as the travel and tourist
companies. Most (but not all) Belarusian embassies accept faxed copies of these documents to grant tourist visa.
Besides, you should present there the filled out visa application form that you can download from our site and two
passport size photos. These papers can be also mailed to the embassy. Usually visa is executed for about 5-7 days,
express visa - within 2 days or less. You can apply for the visa support documents (voucher and invitation on our site)
How can I get a visa at the airport?
There is a Consular Point at the airport Minsk-2 where they grant visas before passport control. In this case
you need the ORIGINAL voucher and invitation to be delivered to the Consular Point by a travel company's
representative one and a half hour before your plane landing. After your plane lands the airport officer will
show you the way to the Consular point where you will fill in visa application form, then pay visa fee which
is 45$ for the citizens of the countrie where there is no Belarusian embassy and 60$ for the citiznes of the
countries where Belarusian embassy is established, visa fee for USA citizens is 180$ and get visa stamped into
your passport. Please note that you will need 1 passport size photo to attach to the visa application form.
This way of getting visa is very convenient for those who live far from the Belarusian embassy or are short
of time. You can apply for the visa support service at the airport on our site.
Can I use credit cards in Belarus?
Credit cards Visa and Mastercard/Eurocard are accepted for payment in almost all restaurants,
big shops, hotels in different cities of Belarus. Do not expect to use credit cards for payment in
small towns and villages. We would not recommend you to use other cards than Visa
and Mastercard/Eurocard in Belarus, they are either not acceptable or acceptable but in a few places.
What currencies are easy to exchange in Belarus?
answer: You can easely convert US dollars, Euro and Russian roubly into Belarusian roubles in every exchange office.
Other currencies can be exchanged too but only in some exchange offices and in banks.
Do I need to get registration if stay in hotel or apartment?
If you stay in hotel, your hotel will make registration automatically
for the period of your stay there. If you stay in apartment or moved to apartment after been
stayed at the hotel, during 3 working days you should get registration at the local Passport
and Visa service (former OVIR). You will have to go there with owner of the apartment,
pay some small fee (about 7$) and get registration document, that you should keep until your departure.
Do I need to have medical insurance to visit Belarus?
Medical insurance is required for all foreign citizens traveling to the Republic of Belarus.
To be eligible for emergency medical care in Belarus all
foreign citizens should have the medical insurance agreement with a Belarusian insurance company or with an authorized foreign insurance company and possess the insurance certificate (policy) issued by the company.
The insurance certificate (policy) issued by a foreign insurance company should
be valid on the territory of the Republic of Belarus during the stay and should
cover the insurance cases established by the Law of the Republic of Belarus. The minimum limit of insurance responsibility is five thousand US dollars.
Medical insurance is not required for tourists with transit visas crossing Belarus,
diplomats and official delegations, crewmembers of air and rail vehicles, citizens of
the CIS states, holders of the Travel documents (“Titre de Voyage”) issued to stateless
persons and refugees.
Where can I buy Belarusian medical insurance?
The representatives of Belarusian insurance companies will provide foreign citizens
with necessary insurance agreements and certificates on any border crossing point of
the Republic of Belarus includingInternational airport Minsk-2 (code MSQ).
